Most often PAs are well advanced and experienced in implementing environmental education programs, and interpretation of their natural values to the visitors. But, simultaneously many Carpathian PAs have limited capacities for efficient communication with their local communities and stakeholders. This is why the CArpathian PAs should drive their efforts for:
- communicating the conservation objectives to the local target groups;
- building the sense of the common ownership and responsibility for safekeeping the unique natural and cultural heritage of the Carpathian region;
- promoting public participation, and involving the regional and local authorities, and other relevant stakeholders in strong partnerships with PAs for the implementation of joint activities for the benefit of all local stakeholders.
​Cooperation with regional and local authorities and all relevant stakeholders is essential to foster greater consideration of and contribution to the protection and sustainable development of the Carpathian region for the wellbeing of the current and future generations living in the Carpathian region.
