New uncontrolled developments, climate change, loss of biodiversity are reasons for the degradation of the natural habitats and of inhabited landscapes in the Caprathians. This is combined with the slow movemement of the local populations towards cities, the dissapeareance of traditions and the loss of connection between young people and the mountain way of living.
This is why the Carpathian parks are working especially on educating the young people living inside and around the protected area, in order to maintain the consciousness for nature and landscape conservation.
The visitors and the general public are also targeted by awarenes activities, as they are the main stakeholder interacting directly or indirectly with the Carpathian parks natural assets.
The Carpathian parks are also cooperating since several years with our partners from the Alps in organizing simultaneously the activities within the Youth at the Top Project.
